For 145 years, the International Law Association has actively promoted the study, clarification and advancement of international law. The Biennial Conference is an exceptional opportunity to join numerous specialist committees that will address current issues in international law, listen to panel discussions that feature the world’s most prominent international lawyers, judges and arbitrators, and enjoy social functions hosted in landmark venues around Sydney.
The theme of the 78th Biennial Conference is "Developing International Law in a Challenging World". With its global outlook and innovative spirit, Sydney is the ideal city in which to start conversations about the future of international law.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Attendees of the Conference are invited to submit a paper or panel proposal, for possible inclusion in the Conference programme.
For paper and poster proposals, candidates are to submit a title and 150-200 word abstract, along with a 150 word biography for potential inclusion in the program. A one-page CV should also be submitted. For panel proposals, the title of the panel and the titles of each paper are to be submitted with a 200 word abstract of the discussions of the panel and a statement on the proposed format for the panel. A biography and one-page CV should also be sent for each proposed speaker on the panel.
The deadline for the call for papers and panel is 1 November 2017.
