Welcome Message from the Conference Chair
The Edmonton-based organizing committee, University of Alberta Department of Chemistry, and I are pleased to host the 101 st Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition (CCS 2018) and we welcome you with open arms. This annual Canadian Society for Chemistry brings together the Canadian and international chemistry communities to share their most recent exciting research advances.
The CSC 2018 conference takes place May 27-31 in Edmonton, Alberta and is themed "Chemistry in a Post-Modern Age". Two professors François Diederich of ETH Zurich and Jeffery Moore of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The technical program that follows spans all chemistry sub-disciplines. This formal program, and the casual conversations that will occur, will probably spark important discussions that touch on the roles and responsibilities of chemists in addressing the challenges facing our world.
While you are in Edmonton we encourage you to reach beyond the conference and explore the beautiful surroundings. Edmonton's river valley, Canada's largest urban park, is 160 kilometers from maintained pathways.
